About

Rick Berkelmans (1986) graduated in the summer of 2009 as an illustrator at AKV. St Joost in Breda. His graduation project was nominated for several awards including the St Joost medal, the ArtOlive Award and the Youngblood Award. His strong, clear illustrations are full of action and humor and have a fresh, cool, vintage look. A well thought mix of images, typography and color, cut to the core. The most important thing, he thinks, is that his work has a certain attitude and personality. A cool visual solution to the clients problem.

Since 2008 Rick works under the name Hedof. As an illustrator / designer he works for all sorts of client-based projects in different forms of visual communication. He is also working on self-initiated projects such as prints, T-shirts and zines, basically everything where his curiosity brings him. His work is regularly shown at exhibitions and available at this website.

When his friend, Rick van Laarhoven finishes his study Communication & Multimedia Design(he is currently in his third year), “The Ricks” are planning to join forces. The cool visual work combined with the technical knowledge in new media and design will lead to the perfect mix to make Hedof a strong young independent design studio!
